My Approach and Values

I have been described as a caring, creative and compassionate individual. Throughout my career, I have provided support to young adults, children and their families, ensuring that their needs are met with empathy and understanding. Since 2012, I have run a thriving private practice for individuals and offer supervisor to clinical colleagues.

In addition to my NHS roles, I have contributed to various children's charities. My experience includes working with a bereavement charity, offering vital support to staff and those experiencing loss. Furthermore I was an integral member of a therapy team within a therapeutic residential and education community, dedicated to supporting children with complex needs who live in care. I have also worked within GP surgeries, schools for children with special needs, alongside social care colleagues and medical teams in hospitals. 

​​Much of my work is short term and problem-focused with the goal of helping people manage their mental health and wellbeing. I have supported individuals to overcome difficulties such as anxiety, depression, phobias, OCD, self-harm, suicidal ideation, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties and low confidence. Furthermore, I have also supported people with additional needs and have an interest in neurodiversity, relationships and identity. Whether working with adults or young people, my practice is always client centered. I believe strongly in placing the client at the heart of every interaction and adapting a collaborative approach is a fundamental principle of my work.

I have a vast experience of providing clinical supervision to trainees and fully qualified clinicians, supporting them to reflect upon their practice and refer to current research and gold standard practice guidelines.
